DNS (Domain Name System)
The system that translates your domain name into the IP address of your hosting server.

DNS records control where your domain points, where email goes, and which services can send mail as you. Common records are A, CNAME, MX, TXT, and SPF. DNS changes propagate within minutes on modern providers, not the 24 to 48 hours of old guides.
