WebCare Studios vs ManageWP

ManageWP (owned by GoDaddy since 2016) is a self-serve dashboard for updating multiple WordPress sites from one screen. It is a tool, not a team. When an update breaks checkout or a plugin conflict takes the site down at 2 AM, ManageWP hands you the logs — we fix it. This page is for founders and agencies who love the dashboard idea but want a human engineer on the other end when the dashboard turns red.

How we scored this

Methodology & sources

Every row in the table has a defensible source. If a claim isn't here, it isn't in the score. Last full re-verification: June 2026.

Where the data comes from

Public pricing pages, feature lists, and terms of service from ManageWP as of the last update date, plus hands on experience running the same maintenance work we compare. When ManageWP changes a plan, we update the row.

How each row is scored

Winner is decided by what the buyer actually gets in the plan, not by which side markets it louder. If ManageWP does something better than us, that row is theirs. Ties are called when the feature is materially the same.

What we refuse to score

We don't score claims we can't verify (e.g. 'best-in-class', 'enterprise-grade', anonymous testimonials). Response SLA, backup cadence, and included edit hours are only counted when they appear in the vendor's public terms.

Honest answers

WebCare Studios vs ManageWP FAQs

Everything founders ask before they switch. If yours is not here, ask on WhatsApp and we will answer in plain English.

Is ManageWP a WordPress maintenance service?

No. ManageWP is a management dashboard tool, not a service. It lets you see all your WordPress sites in one place and click update on all of them at once. Nobody at ManageWP tests those updates on staging, nobody rolls them back if they break, and nobody picks up the phone at 2 AM. You are still the maintenance team — you just have a nicer dashboard.

ManageWP is $2 per site and you are $99. How is that a fair comparison?

It is not — they are different products. ManageWP at $2 per site is the dashboard. Our $99 is the human team that uses a dashboard like it to actually do the work, test on staging, roll back when things break, respond to 2 AM emergencies, and stand behind a 30 day money back. If you would rather pay $2 and do the work yourself, ManageWP is the right pick. If you would rather pay $99 and get your evenings back, we are.

Can I use both — ManageWP for the dashboard and you for the work?

Some agencies do this, but we do not recommend it. Our care plans include our own monitoring, staging, and update pipeline; layering ManageWP on top creates duplicate alerts and inconsistent update history. Pick one system and let one team own the outcome.

Who owns ManageWP?

GoDaddy acquired ManageWP in September 2016. The product still runs, but the roadmap now sits inside a hosting company's priorities, not an independent maintenance tool's. Some longtime users have flagged slower feature velocity since the acquisition.

Can you migrate me from ManageWP?

Yes. Most sites onboard in under 48 hours. We import your site list, take a fresh off-site backup, baseline Google Search Console rankings, set up monitoring on our stack, and brief you in plain language before touching anything. Migration is included on every plan, no setup fee.

How long does it take to switch to WebCare Studios?

Most sites are onboarded inside 48 hours. We take a full backup, run a baseline audit, set up monitoring, and brief you in plain English before we touch anything live. Zero downtime, no missed emails, no broken links.

What if I am not happy after I switch?

Every plan is covered by a 30 day money back guarantee in plain language. Cancel inside the first thirty days for any reason and you get a full refund. No forms, no friction.

Will my SEO take a hit during the move?

No. We keep your URLs, redirects, sitemaps, and schema intact. We also baseline your Google Search Console before the move so we can prove ranking stability after.

Who actually works on my site?

Senior WordPress engineers based in the US and Pakistan, on call 24 by 7. From the $199 Care Plus plan, you get a named lead engineer who owns your site, replies on first name terms, and stays the same person month after month.

Do you charge extra for emergencies?

No. Emergency response is included in every care plan. If your site goes down at 2 AM, we are already on it before you wake up. No surprise invoices.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes. Monthly plans cancel any time with one email. Annual plans cancel inside the 30 day window for a full refund, and after that on a prorated basis. No retention loops, no forced calls.
