Quick answer

Two weeks before a keynote, check that your enquiry form sends to the right inboxes, your showreel plays on a phone, your one sheet downloads, your bio and topics are current, the site loads quickly on mobile data, and a recent backup exists. Then hold non security updates until the week after the event.

Why two weeks before

Event week brings attendees, organisers and press to your site. Two weeks gives enough time to fix a broken form or a slow page without rushing a change into the busiest week.

Common questions

When should I run a pre event website check?+

About two weeks before the event, so any fixes are done before event week.

Should I update plugins in event week?+

Only security patches, tested on staging first. Hold everything else until the week after.

What is the most important check?+

The enquiry form. Send a real enquiry and confirm it arrives.
